Mating stables are one of the first stations in the production cycle of pigs. Sows get fertilized artifically. Usually a couple of Guilts are in the stable together with the sows, within separate pens, to stimulate them better when in heat.
Furthermore is the mating department always in rotation of sows and guilts, which have to be fertilized fot the first time in an age of 8 months. Sows that have been farrowing for 3-4 years, will most likely go to the slaughtering house.
Mating stables can also vary in interior concepts. You can choose individual pens or free access pens, which are more modern to use. Sows and guilts will be staying in the mating stables the first 4 weeks of their gestation.
